Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Friend,
Hope you are doing okay. I got to that you are going on a camping. I ilke to give you some as it will help you during the camping time. I will have great time during this journey as you will meet new people and also explore many things like how to manage things with minimal support. pLeas eto get your own prepacked meals that will help you a lot. Try to get the nre pait hiking boots this time as it has very rough during the camping.
There are some drawbacks that i would to explain is that you dont have many faciities during camping like restrooms, proper meals.
For text summer, I also like to join you as relly enjoyed your company and I will be free during that time.
Thank you for considering my advices and enjoy your holiday.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the three requested points: you give reasons camping could be enjoyable, mention limited facilities, and say you would like to join your friend. However, the ideas are only partly developed, which leaves the advice and your position less clear than they could be. For example, “meet new people” and “explore many things” are relevant but would benefit from a specific explanation of what your friend might enjoy. The disadvantages are limited to restrooms and meals, with little detail about their effect. Your willingness to go is stated, but “For text summer” makes the timing unclear. The response is also two words below the required minimum. Add a little detail to each point and make your invitation explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable overall arrangement: an opening paragraph gives positive advice, a separate paragraph introduces disadvantages, and a final paragraph says you would like to join your friend. This helps the reader follow the main stages of the message. Some links and references, however, are unclear or mechanical. For instance, “I got to that you are going on a camping” does not clearly introduce the situation, while “For text summer” interrupts the transition to your plans. The first paragraph also moves quickly from benefits to packing advice without a clear connection. Use straightforward linking phrases such as “One reason you may enjoy it is…” and “On the other hand…” to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the basic message, including “camping,” “hiking boots,” “prepacked meals,” and “restrooms.” There are also attempts to use more specific expressions, such as “minimal support,” although the intended meaning is not entirely clear in context. A number of spelling and word-choice errors make the letter less natural and occasionally slow the reader: “ilke,” “nre pait,” “faciiities,” and “advices.” Some phrases are also imprecise, including “going on a camping” and “during the camping time.” Build accuracy with common camping collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary for the drawbacks, such as “limited washing facilities” or “uncomfortable sleeping conditions,” would help develop your advice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including “as you will meet new people” and “as relly enjoyed your company.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “I got to that you are going on a camping,” “There are some drawbacks that i would to explain is,” and “I will have great time,” where sentence structure, verb forms, or articles are not handled accurately. The final paragraph also lacks a clear subject and verb in “as relly enjoyed your company.” Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check articles and verb patterns. Accurate simple sentences should come before adding more complex clauses.
