Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
The letter gives a clear general recommendation to camp with friends and includes a relevant personal example about a trip to northern areas. However, it does not fully address the task: it does not explain specific reasons the friend would enjoy camping, such as being outdoors or sharing activities, and it says nothing about possible disadvantages. The final sentence repeats the recommendation but does not answer whether you would personally like to go camping with Iqra this summer. The opening also spends space on a vague discussion of camping as a controversial topic, which does not suit a friendly advice letter. Address each bullet directly, then support your advice with a focused example and a clear statement about joining the trip.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is some organisation: the response moves from a recommendation to a past travel experience and then returns to its advice. The chronological details about travelling and sightseeing also give the example a basic sequence. However, the opening is difficult to follow, and the long first paragraph combines several ideas without clear boundaries. The second paragraph lists destinations and activities, but the connection between this trip and the benefits of camping is not made explicit. Linking phrases such as “One reason you might enjoy it is…” and separate paragraphs for enjoyment, disadvantages, and your own plans would make the progression clearer. The repeated reference to having fun and making memories also limits the sense of development.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses some relevant travel vocabulary, including “trekking,” “sightseeing,” “local markets,” and “unforgettable memories,” which helps communicate the experience. However, the range is limited for the task, and several phrases are inaccurate or awkward, such as “camping holidaywhich is always been debateable,” “positively,” and “go woth your friends.” The wording “famous places” is also broad when describing a list of destinations. Choose vocabulary that directly expresses the advantages and drawbacks of camping, such as “enjoy the scenery,” “basic facilities,” or “unpredictable weather.” Check spelling and collocations carefully, as noticeable errors sometimes make the intended meaning less clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts to use both simple and longer sentences, and the past-tense account provides a basic narrative structure. However, complex sentences are often faulty, as in “camping holidaywhich is always been debateable” and “its depends on you whom you prefer.” Verb forms and agreement are also inconsistent: “other rejecting,” “we have alot of fun,” and “make unforgettable memories” do not fit their sentence contexts. Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention, particularly in the long opening and the fragment “Last year in the month of June.” Capitalisation is inconsistent in “i,” “Went,” and “we.” Build shorter, complete sentences first, then practise accurate past-tense forms and clauses joined with “because” or “although.”
