Student answer (Band 6.0)

Deare Vivek,

I was delighted to hear that you are going for the camping alone to the Banff national park this summer. Which is such a great news, you will enjoy your time with nature surroundings as well as it is a better choice to get a break from the regular busy routine. Breath some fresh air , make beautiful memories over there and click some pictures for to upload them on the social media as you are an influncer.Since you enjoy outdoor activities and adventure, I am sure it would suit you perfectly.

On the other hand, there are few drawbacks that you should keep in your mind. First, the Banff`s weather condition is very upredictable, heavy rain or strong wind all this consequences can make your experience uncomfortable. Second, camping requires equipments such as light, travel size stove to make your food and preparation , setting up tent and many more.

As for me this would be great opportunity for me to spend some time with you. It would be fantastic experience for both of us.

Best wishes,

krushi.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you explain why Vivek may enjoy nature and outdoor activities, mention weather and equipment as drawbacks, and clearly say you would like to join him. The advice is relevant and the friendly purpose is clear. The positive reasons are somewhat more developed than the disadvantages, which are listed briefly rather than explained in detail; for example, you could say how rain or wind might affect the trip, or why preparing and carrying equipment could be inconvenient. The opening also says he is going “alone,” although your later invitation suggests you hope to go with him. Clarifying this would make the situation and your advice more consistent. Overall, the task is covered, but some ideas need fuller support for a more complete response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The letter has a clear overall progression: you begin with your reaction and reasons camping could appeal, move to disadvantages, and finish by expressing interest in joining. Paragraphing supports this structure, and transitions such as “On the other hand” and “As for me” help signal changes in focus. Some links within sentences are less smooth, however. The opening combines several ideas in a long sequence, and “Which is such a great news” is detached from the preceding sentence, interrupting the flow. The disadvantages are also presented as a list, with limited explanation connecting each point to its effect on the holiday. Use complete, clearly linked sentences and develop each point briefly to make the progression more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for a friendly camping letter, including “outdoor activities,” “adventure,” “unpredictable,” and “setting up tent.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and the tone is generally appropriate. However, several word forms, spellings, and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “a great news,” “Breath some fresh air,” “influncer,” “equipments,” and “for to upload.” These errors make parts of the letter less natural, even though the intended meaning is usually recoverable. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling and countability: for example, “equipment” is uncountable, and “breathe in fresh air” is the appropriate phrase. More precise vocabulary for the practical difficulties would also strengthen the advice.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the reason clause “Since you enjoy outdoor activities and adventure” and the contrast introduced by “On the other hand.” The main message remains understandable. Some grammatical errors persist, particularly in sentence boundaries, articles, and sentence construction. “Which is such a great news” is a fragment, while “I was delighted to hear that you are going” would be more consistent as “you are planning to go” in this context. The opening also runs several ideas together without clear punctuation. In “there are few drawbacks,” an article is needed, and the final paragraph would benefit from a complete, carefully punctuated sentence. Review sentence boundaries and article use while continuing to practise varied structures.
