Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Rahul,
I hope this finds you well. I remember when we met last year and it was a great time together we spent.
I am writing this to share some information about the camping holiday on which you are planning to go for the first time this summer.
I believe that you will enjoy a lot in camping as it allows you to have multiple amenities in tent. Additionally, it include bonefire, meals at river side and lots of fun activities, which can make you feel stress free and energetic.
I think there is possible disadvantages that you may face regarding washroom facilities or connectivity issues to mobile phones. Moreover, limited reachability for campings staff as their office is too far from site, so you have to go by walk.
I would be grateful if I can join this camping with you as we can recall old memories and can have good quality of time with each other.
I hope all are fine in your family. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours truly,
Pankaj Dubey

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you explain why Rahul may enjoy camping, mention drawbacks such as washroom facilities and phone connectivity, and clearly say you would like to join him. The reasons are relevant, and the final paragraph gives a personal motivation for going together. However, some points are only briefly stated or unclear. For example, “multiple amenities in tent” does not explain what facilities you mean, while the concern about camp staff being far from the site could be developed with a clearer consequence. The letter is recognisably friendly and appropriate, though a more natural closing and fuller explanation of the advantages and disadvantages would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall structure, moving from an opening, to the benefits and drawbacks, and then to your invitation and closing. Paragraphing helps the reader follow the three main parts of the task, and linking expressions such as “Additionally” and “Moreover” show an attempt to connect ideas. Some connections are less smooth, however: “Moreover” introduces a second disadvantage, but the sentence that follows is grammatically incomplete and its relationship to the previous point is not fully clear. The opening also shifts quickly from recalling your last meeting to the purpose of the letter. More direct transitions and clearer links between each reason would make the progression feel more natural and less formulaic.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “stress free,” “energetic,” “connectivity issues,” and “quality of time.” There are also attempts to use topic-related language, such as “washroom facilities” and “camping holiday.” However, several word choices and collocations are noticeably unnatural or imprecise, including “enjoy a lot in camping,” “multiple amenities in tent,” and “limited reachability for campings staff.” “Bonefire” is also misspelled, and “campings” is not the appropriate form. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding the general message, but they limit precision and naturalness. Aim to learn common word partnerships for describing outdoor activities and practical difficulties.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “activities, which can make you feel stress free and energetic” and a conditional idea about joining the trip. The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “it include” needs subject–verb agreement, and “in tent” needs an article or plural form. The sentence beginning “Moreover, limited reachability…” is a fragment rather than a complete sentence, while “I would be grateful if I can join” uses an unsuitable verb form for this hypothetical request. Review articles, agreement, and complete sentence structure, and check that conditional clauses use consistent forms. Greater accuracy in these areas would strengthen your range.
