Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Dilpreet,
I hope you are well. I heard about your plan to visit a camping holiday this summer for the very first time and i believe that this is a very good idea as it would help you to releave yourself from stress and everyday hectic work schedule, Furthermore it will give you a reason to spend some time with your family.
Although this plan of yours will be beneficial for your health and family bonding but it will be very difficult for you to find a perfect camping place as numerous people have already booked their camping spots due to which most of the camping sites will be flooded with people. I would recommend you to find a camping spot at a national park before planning any scheduled holidays. I would be happy to hop in for the summer camping if everything works according to plan. Advise me regarding any scheduled trip in future.
Yours Sincerely,
Shahid Malik

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you explain that camping could relieve stress and provide family time, mention crowded sites and the difficulty of finding a place, and say you would be happy to join your friend. These are relevant ideas, but some are less fully developed than others. For example, the benefits are stated generally, without explaining what your friend might enjoy doing outdoors, and the disadvantages focus mainly on booking and crowds rather than practical challenges of camping. Your willingness to go is clear, though “if everything works according to plan” leaves the commitment somewhat conditional. Add a little specific detail to each point and make your advice and invitation more direct.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable structure, with an appropriate greeting, an opening, advice and a sign-off. The ideas are generally easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Although” and “Furthermore” help connect them. However, most of the content is placed in two long paragraphs, so the benefits, disadvantages and invitation are not clearly separated. The transition from the disadvantages to recommending a national park is understandable but could be more explicit, and “Advise me regarding any scheduled trip in future” feels abrupt as a closing thought. Use shorter paragraphs for the main points and clearer links between advice and your offer to join.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for a friendly letter, including phrases such as “relieve yourself from stress,” “family bonding,” “camping spots” and “hop in.” These communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, however: one normally goes “on” a camping holiday rather than “to” one, and “hop in” is not the most natural way to offer to join a trip. There are also spelling and capitalisation slips, including “releave” and lowercase “i.” Choose familiar, precise collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make the letter sound more natural without requiring more elaborate vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including the concessive structure “Although this plan … but…” and the conditional phrase “if everything works according to plan.” The meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical and punctuation errors remain. In “Although this plan … but it will be very difficult,” the two contrasting linkers should not be used together; use “Although …, it will…” or “This plan …, but it will…”. The opening sentence also runs several ideas together, and the capitalisation of “i” and “Yours Sincerely” is inconsistent. Break up long sentences, use punctuation to mark sentence boundaries, and proofread for these recurring details.
