Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Meet ,
I hope you are doing fantastic as usual , I heard you are thinking to go on camping holiday for first time this summer which is very thrilling and peaceful experience.
I think you should definitely go once as it is really fun and you would definitely enjoy it because you are more fond of adventure's and new experience's so it is perfect suit for you ; Moreover , it is very peaceful and refreshing as you connect with nature so you will feel more relaxed. You would definitely enjoy this quality time with your loved ones.
However there are also some drawbacks of camping , One of them is that essential things required for camping are usually really expensive, Secondly at night some animals wander around so you should be careful with that. Lastly their is no internet service available nearby.
I would love to join you to go camping , We can create tons of memories but i have really busy schedule so i wont be able to come with you. I hope you would enjoy this holiday feel free to ask anything.
yours sincerely Meet.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you explain that your friend likes adventure and would enjoy nature, mention costs, animals and lack of internet, and say you would like to join but cannot because of your schedule. The advice is relevant and your position is clear. The reasons for enjoyment are more developed than the disadvantages, which are listed briefly without practical detail—for example, you could explain how expensive equipment affects a first-time camper or suggest ways to stay safe around animals. The closing also says “I hope you would enjoy this holiday,” but a more direct, supportive recommendation would make the purpose of the letter clearer. The response covers the task well overall, though some ideas need fuller support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall sequence: an opening, reasons to go, possible drawbacks, and your response about joining. Paragraphing helps the reader distinguish these stages, and connectors such as “However,” “Moreover,” and “Lastly” make the relationships between points visible. At times, though, linking feels mechanical because several ideas are joined in long sentences with semicolons or commas. “Secondly” and “Lastly” also make the disadvantages read like a list rather than connected advice. Some references are unclear, particularly “you should be careful with that,” where “that” could refer more precisely to animals at night. Use shorter sentences and clearer references to make the progression smoother and less dependent on signposting.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “adventure,” “peaceful,” “refreshing,” “drawbacks,” and “create tons of memories.” There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “connect with nature.” However, several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “perfect suit for you” should be “a perfect fit for you,” and “go on camping holiday” is more naturally “go on a camping holiday.” “Adventure’s” and “experience’s” use apostrophes incorrectly, while “their is” is a spelling error. These slips are noticeable and limit the precision of the message. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling and apostrophes carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because you are more fond of…” and a contrast introduced by “However.” The main message remains understandable, but errors in sentence boundaries and punctuation recur. For example, “I hope you are doing fantastic as usual , I heard…” joins two independent clauses with a comma, and “I would love to join you to go camping , We can…” has the same problem. There are also issues with articles and sentence construction in “go on camping holiday for first time.” Use full stops or conjunctions to separate complete ideas, and review article use and capitalisation after sentence breaks. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentences easier to read.
