Student answer (Band 6.5)
Now a days crime books and tv shows are gaining public attention in many nations. the prominent reason is attractive stroyline which contain twist and consipiracy throughout the series. i feel crime shows are promoting crimes and increasing people to act immorally.
To begin with, fiction dramas normally has more unique story as compare to daily soap dramas which basically evolve around house politics and same boring love stories in each drama. Viewers are tied of watching similar stories. on other hand crime shows has sudden twist which create criousity in viewers and gain popularity among public. For instance: CID is very popular TV in india which basically covers stories about crimes like murder has received best TV drama award in india in 2025 TV filmfare awards. therefore, it is evitable that youth always run behind unique stories.
In my opinion, crime shows are influencing individuals and increasing crime rates in countries like money laundry , murder, drug smuggling etc. recently a drug smuggling case was covered by CNT newspaper, where smuggler confessed he wants to earn money and was not getting any job. he recently watched Money heist web series on netflix which helped him to find successful technique for drugs transportation. So, it clearly states youngsters are getting motivation for wrong doings after reading crime books.
To conclude, i would say unique story and twisting pilot helps the writer to sell their novels, simultaneously promoting crime rate in nations by inventing new techniques to perform wrong and unlawful things

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for popularity and a personal opinion. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you provide an example of a popular show (CID) and a hypothetical scenario regarding crime influence, the arguments remain superficial. The opinion is clear, but the link between fiction and real-world crime is asserted rather than deeply explored. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting examples are more analytical and directly tied to the prompt's requirements, rather than relying on anecdotal evidence that lacks sufficient depth.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'For instance', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'therefore, it is evitable' (likely meaning 'evident'). Additionally, there are issues with referencing and sentence-level flow, which occasionally make the text feel disjointed. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'conspiracy', 'immorally', and 'transportation'. However, there are several spelling errors ('stroyline', 'consipiracy', 'criousity', 'evitable' instead of 'evident') and some awkward collocations ('twisting pilot' instead of 'twists in the plot'). To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure that you proofread for spelling, as these errors occasionally distract the reader from your message.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Issues include missing articles ('in india', 'on netflix'), subject-verb agreement ('dramas normally has', 'crime shows has'), and punctuation errors. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on basic grammatical rules such as pluralization, article usage, and subject-verb agreement. Attempting more complex structures is good, but ensure they are accurate before moving to more advanced forms.
