In today's time, crime novel and TV crime dramas gain popularity among the society in many countries. As it contain suspense, witty dialogues and mystery, which keep the viewers engage with drama till the end. However, over time this kind of stories encourage the readers to attempt crime due to getting tips and techniques to how to commit offence. Therefore, I partially agree with the given statement and governments have to take correct measures and implement certain regulations for preventing publication of extreme crime dramas.

Nowadays, people are more interested to watch or read stories which contain suspense, thrilling experience and promote them to involve in detective activities. Also, recent crime novels are based on current social situations, which catch the attention of readers and it would be easy for them to understand the motive behind the story. Therefore, a number of crime novels and dramas gain huge popularity across the world. For instance, CID is one of the famous crime drama in India, as it focus on how to solve the critical murder case history along with the use of latest medical technologies. Sometimes this show promote the viewers to develop critical-thinking and problems solving skills in order to find the criminal.

However, governments have to implement strict regulations on publication of crime dramas and novels for preventing the local community towards the wrong path and stay away from the sensitive cases. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the popularity of crime fiction and your personal opinion. You clearly state your position in the introduction and maintain it throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide a relevant example (CID), the argument that these shows 'encourage the readers to attempt crime' is a significant generalization that lacks strong supporting evidence or logical depth. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are more nuanced and fully explored, rather than relying on assertions that may seem implausible to the reader.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Therefore', and 'For instance' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as starting the second paragraph with 'Nowadays' when the prompt asks for reasons for popularity, or using 'Therefore' in places where it does not logically follow the previous sentence. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the transition between sentences is smoother.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'suspense', 'witty dialogues', 'motive', and 'inculcate'. There are, however, some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'gain popularity among the society' (should be 'in society'), 'critical murder case history' (awkward phrasing), and 'bed habits' (likely a spelling error for 'bad habits'). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that your word choices are contextually appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'As it contain suspense' should be 'As they contain suspense') and article usage (e.g., 'preventing publication of extreme crime dramas'). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are minor issues with apostrophes, such as 'drams'' and 'it's' (should be 'its'). These errors are frequent but do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points. Increasing your control over basic grammatical structures will help improve your score.
