In this contemporary era, people prefer to watch programs related to criminal activities and read similar kind of books. There are numerous reasons behind this trend and in this essay, I will discuss reasons along with my viewpoint.

To start with, one of the major reasons is that people found these crime stories fascinating because of suspense. Such telecasts engage people by providing the content based on real life incidents. Therefore, people become habtual to watch their faviourate serials. For example, Crime Petrol which is very famous among everyone and it shows stories regarding any criminal incidents happening in homes itself. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing reasons for the popularity of crime media and providing a personal opinion. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of development. The ideas, such as the 'suspense' factor and the desire for 'knowledge' to stay safe, are relevant but remain somewhat superficial. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your arguments with more detailed explanations and specific examples. Because the length requirement was not met, the development of ideas is restricted, resulting in a lower score for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To start with', 'Apart from this', and 'Additionally' to link your ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between the reasons for popularity and your personal opinion is abrupt. The final paragraph is quite brief and does not fully synthesize the points made earlier. Improving the use of referencing and ensuring a more sophisticated range of linking words would enhance the overall flow and logical progression of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'contemporary', 'fascinating', 'incidents', and 'thrilling'. However, there are several spelling errors ('habtual', 'faviourate', 'preferance') and some awkward collocations ('shows stories regarding any criminal incidents happening in homes itself'). While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, it lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common words and expanding your repertoire of topic-specific collocations related to media and entertainment.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'people found these crime stories' (should be 'find'), 'people become habtual to watch' (should be 'accustomed to watching'), and 'how a criminal can perform such tasks' (should be 'how criminals commit such acts'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the sentence structure is often repetitive. To achieve a higher score, you should aim for greater accuracy in verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, and attempt to incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence forms with fewer errors.
