Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is no denying the fact that the phenomenon of Crime is ubiquitous across the globe. One school of though opine that in most countries todays era crime tv and novel are more popular. therefore in this aforementioned statements and my opinion are articulated in the trail paragraph.
Commencing with the becoming more popular crime novel and tv the first reason is that educated their self . To explain it more this days every one like to watch tv and also keen to reading crime novels just to know that if they are in that situation what they will do. Moreover they also see that if someone do crime to them how they will recreate and also learn form there mistake. To cite an example, In India most people watch Crime Pretol Tv dramas it is one of the most popular drams in India. They are watch this drams just to educated there self that if they will face a problem like that how they will overcome form that problem that stands as an epitome. Thus in many countries people like to watch crime tv show and also read crime novel .
Another reason that support my inclination is that In this days people are more violent than in the past just because of watching crime tv shows and also read crime novel. In todays young generation are try to show of there lifestyle and watch this type of drams and they pretend that they will become a that type of guy because in dramas and novel they are show that type of guy or women are fearless they don not have any fear of law and police. For instance, In USA most young blood watch crime tv and novel just because they want to become like that type of guy and they don't have any fear that stands as a paragon. Therefore, In many countries people like to watch this type of crime shows and read novels.
On the close scrutiny, I conclude that this topic has merits and also demerits. If you asked about my opinion i strongly believe that if some one watch for educate them self it is great but at the end it is drams so don't try to become that type of guy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the popularity of crime fiction and the writer's opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding 'education' and 'violence' are repetitive and lack depth, relying on generalizations rather than nuanced analysis. The position is stated but remains somewhat simplistic throughout the essay. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations and explore the psychological or entertainment aspects of why audiences are drawn to these genres, rather than focusing solely on the potential for learning or negative behavioral imitation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow is often hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. While cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Thus', and 'For instance' are used, they are sometimes applied incorrectly or in a way that feels forced. The introduction is particularly confusing, with errors in sentence structure that make it difficult to follow the writer's intent. Paragraphing is present, but the logical progression within paragraphs is weak, as the sentences do not always build upon each other effectively to support the main idea.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'educated their self' instead of 'educate themselves' and 'young blood' used in an inappropriate context. The student attempts to use some academic-style vocabulary like 'ubiquitous', 'epitome', and 'paragon', but these are often used incorrectly or do not fit the surrounding context. Spelling errors, such as 'drams' for 'dramas' and 'pretol' for 'Patrol', also occur, which occasionally makes the meaning difficult to grasp.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('every one like to watch'), incorrect verb forms ('they are show that type'), and missing articles. Sentence structures are often simple or run-on, and the lack of control over basic grammar frequently impedes the reader's understanding. While there is an attempt at complex sentences, these are almost always faulty, leading to confusion. Significant improvement in basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors is required to improve this score.
