Student answer (Band 7.0)
In today's rapidly growing content world, crime novels and TV crime dramas are gaining huge demand across various countries. Although many people support this trend considering the creation of awareness regarding the most happening crimes around us, others hold the opposite view that these kind of TV shows and novels can negatively influence the younger generations. This essay will discuss the thin line of difference between creating awarenece and preparedness to normalizing such acts.
There are several arguments in favour of this increasing popularity for the content revolving around crime. This can be explained by that facts that this content educates viewers about the practices involved in executing them and how authorities are tirelessly working to prevent them. For example, in the bollywood movie Jamtara, they clearly depicted how online financial scams are targeted and how cybersecurity wing of Police department is working to trace down this criminals. From my perspective, content should not only focus on educating the viewers to take preventive measures but also explain the consequence criminals face upon comitting them.
Conversely, this information is negatively influencing younger minds by assuming those acts are the only way for fast money and luxurious lifestyle. The main reason for this is normalizing such crimes by depicting escaping from the authorities as heroic acts. For example, in the bollwood movie Dhoom, individuals performing robberies are depicted by lead actors. In my opinion, content creators have to realize that these activities are followed by consequences and including them is also equally important.
It is increasingly likely that while this genre will dominate the rest. Most of the upcoming novels and dramas will eventually be around this, it is unlikely that it will replace everything else. Ultimatley a responsible approach will do a better justice to the audience and society in large.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have addressed all parts of the prompt, providing reasons for the popularity of crime content and expressing a clear personal opinion. Your position is consistent throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant, such as the educational value of crime dramas versus the potential for negative influence on youth. However, some points could be developed further; for instance, the discussion on why these shows are popular could be expanded beyond just 'education' to include psychological factors like suspense or the 'thrill' of the genre. Overall, the response is well-structured and directly answers the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Although', 'Conversely', and 'For example' to link ideas. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the arguments. However, there are minor issues with flow; for example, the transition in the final paragraph is slightly abrupt, and some sentences, such as 'This can be explained by that facts that', are a bit clunky, which slightly affects the smoothness of the progression. Overall, the information is easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'cybersecurity', 'preventive measures', and 'normalizing'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'creating awarenece' (spelling) and 'do a better justice' (should be 'do better justice'). You attempt to use some less common vocabulary, which is good, but there is room for more precise and sophisticated collocations to reach a higher band. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'these kind of TV shows' (should be 'these kinds'), 'trace down this criminals' (should be 'these criminals'), and 'society in large' (should be 'society at large'). These errors are frequent but do not impede communication. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions. Your control of punctuation is generally good, and the sentence variety is sufficient for this level.
