Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, the popularity of crime series and stories is surging worldwide. According to me, People can become aware about crime with the help of this type of content. It is beneficial in awareness about crime.
Books and TV dramas become popular socially day by day. since its popularity, the crime rate is very high in a plethora of countries. When people see crime incidents in their surroundings, they relate their real lives to dramas and serials. For instance, individuals see the show name "crime pertol" which is based on real incidents and crimes, even show casting mentioned the crime dates and names exactly same as happened in real. Thus, the audience is rising towards crime series.
In my opinion, Majority of people can aware about crimes with the help of crime shows and they can save their lives and protect their children from strangers too. For example, child trafficking is a huge crime in every country, but some bad humans kidnap children just to make money, they sell small kids to those people who need a free servant for a lifetime. By seeing those types of serials and episodes, which are related to human trafficking, parents can save their children. It also teaches children about how to tackle the situation when they are in trouble, specially for girls who are victimized by rapist. So, it gives us knowledge about scandals
that happens in anyone's life.
To conclude this, it is a good approach for our citizens, for their awareness, their rights, and protection. Government should promote and award crime related series and books, so actors can encourage more.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why crime content is popular and the writer's opinion. However, the development is somewhat repetitive. The argument focuses heavily on the 'educational' value of crime shows, which is a relevant point, but it lacks depth regarding the entertainment aspect or the psychological appeal of such content. The ideas are clear, but the supporting examples, such as the mention of 'crime pertol', are a bit simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should explore more nuanced reasons for the popularity of the genre, such as the thrill of mystery or the exploration of human nature, rather than focusing solely on crime prevention.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'since its popularity' is awkward, and the connection between sentences is sometimes abrupt. While there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion, the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'those types of serials') is more precise. Paragraphing is present but could be more effectively utilized to separate distinct ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'show casting' instead of 'broadcasting' or 'the show name' instead of 'a show called'. Phrases like 'bad humans' are overly simplistic and lack the sophistication expected at higher levels. While the meaning is clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is a reliance on basic descriptors. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to media and crime.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Majority of people can aware'), incorrect word forms (e.g., 'can aware' instead of 'can become aware'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. To improve, pay closer attention to verb tenses, article usage, and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately without missing auxiliary verbs or prepositions.
