Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe that TV crime dramas and crime novels are more popular among many people in many countries. I personally think that these shows had more fans because its concepts relate more to reality and some shows even describe true stories.
To commence, there are enormous number of reason for popularity of these shows. The first and foremost one is they are based on true stories. To explain, these shows and novels make people aware of some situations as well as give courage to individuals to report every unethical situation they face. Most of the time they show that if you ignore a bad person for once, they may try to do something even worse for next time. Because Criminal minded people do not deserve forgiveness. Another one is that the dramas also depicts that do not trust anyone
even if they are your relatives. For examples, it is real reality that most young child girls are raped by their relatives and neighbours. So these kind of shows may aware parents to check their some child even if they are with closed ones.
Furthermore, I believe that, these type of shows or novels is best idea to aware people's of some situation. For example, in India many people trust their relatives more in these of situations rather than their child. So, these kinds of shows may aware them. Moreover, youngsters may trust easily on strangers and that lead to serious concerns even crimes sometimes. In addition to this, with these TV shows, many people start reporting something wrong. To illustrates in small towns in India, many women face injustice even in today's modern world but these type of shows motivates them to fight for their rights.
In conclusion, crime novels and shows helps people to stay more alert and do not trust anyone blindly and I think the popularity for these type of shows is positive change as well as people who live in towns, may get to know their rights.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for popularity and your personal opinion. You have a clear position that these shows are popular because they reflect reality and serve an educational purpose. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding the 'awareness' aspect. The arguments could be more nuanced; for instance, you focus heavily on the protective aspect of crime dramas, but you could also explore the entertainment value or the psychological appeal of mystery, which would provide a more comprehensive answer to why they are popular.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'To commence', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'check their some child even if they are with closed ones'. The transition between ideas could be smoother to avoid a list-like feel, and some sentences are disjointed, which affects the overall progression of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your ideas, but there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'Criminal minded people' should be 'criminally-minded individuals', and 'aware people's of some situation' is grammatically incorrect (the verb 'to aware' is not standard; 'to raise awareness' is preferred). You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but the lack of precision in word forms and collocations limits your score in this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('dramas also depicts'), incorrect pluralisation ('enormous number of reason'), and awkward phrasing ('these of situations'). While these errors do not completely obscure your meaning, they are frequent enough to require the reader to re-read certain parts. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like article usage and verb forms.
