Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for popularity and personal opinion. However, the development is limited. While you mention 'thrilling experience' and 'VFX technology' as reasons, these points are not fully extended. Your opinion is present but somewhat vague, focusing on the need for regulation rather than a nuanced view of the genre itself. The ideas are relevant but lack depth, and the essay relies on generalisations. To improve, ensure each paragraph provides a clear, well-supported argument with specific examples rather than brief, disconnected statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Although, the technology...' is used incorrectly as a transition, and 'Which might adversely affect...' is a sentence fragment. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'these kind of shows' (plural/singular mismatch). While there is an overall progression, the logical flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, making the connection between ideas feel forced rather than natural.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You use basic terms like 'movies', 'content', and 'shows' repeatedly. There are also noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'the fore most entertainment medium' (foremost), 'fantasize themselves in the characters' (identify with), and 'gets addicted of this content' (addicted to). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of word-choice errors limit the score to the 5.0–5.5 range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('the popularity... are', 'technology... is also plays'), article usage, and sentence construction. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation, such as 'Which might adversely affect on their mental development'. These errors are frequent and occasionally cause the reader to pause, though they do not completely impede communication. A greater focus on basic grammatical accuracy is needed before attempting more complex structures.
