Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for popularity and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The essay fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the depth of the response. The arguments regarding 'awareness' and 'real stories' are somewhat superficial and lack specific, well-developed examples. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a more thorough exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical. While there are some cohesive devices used, such as 'furthermore' and 'in conclusion', they are sometimes used incorrectly or in a repetitive manner. The transition between sentences is occasionally abrupt, making the flow of the argument feel disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly relates to the prompt. Improving the logical flow between sentences will help the reader follow your argument more easily.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, with several spelling errors such as 'manhy', 'mysterios', 'asspects', 'consiquently', and 'coclusion'. The range of vocabulary is basic, and there is a lack of precision in word choice. For example, 'people like to watch mysterios and suspiciousness' is not a natural collocation. To improve, you should aim to use a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary and focus on accurate spelling. Try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and collocations to express your ideas more clearly and effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. For instance, 'with these kind of shows people are getting awareness' and 'from this other can also know' are grammatically incorrect. The range of sentence structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, you need to work on basic grammatical accuracy and attempt to use a wider variety of complex sentence structures. Proofreading your work for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms will also help improve your score.
