Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary era, novels and tv shows becomes more popular as a source of entertainment. Nowadays visualizing crime at social platforms became quite common because majority of people like to watch this kind of content. In my opinion, it is advantageous way to make people more aware about violence.
The primary cause of the popularity of the crime dramas and novel is the preference of society. To explain it, content creators know that people have more interest and enjoy in this kind of shows. Moreover, crime makes an effective storyline which attracts spectators. By highlighting the crimes story writers represent main lead as hero. Therefore, this concept has vast content ideas due to the surge in crimes. For example, a popular tv show named crime files displays the real-time crime cases. Consequently, it has huge fanbase.
It seems to me that the crime books and dramas help people to become aware about what sort of crime could happen consequently, they can avoid it. To explicate it more, sometimes it helps people to become brave by taking action against crimes as easily get influenced by the celebrities. Additionally, number of people can get a rid of situations of cybercrime because they would be already familiar to that. For instance, majority of today don't get under the influence of scam calls or texts.
In conclusion, it is crucial for people to be aware about the crime affairs in the world which leads to decrease in crime rates, community will be aware about the consequence as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for popularity and your personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the explanation of why crime dramas are popular relies on general statements like 'crime makes an effective storyline' without deep analysis. The opinion section is clearer, but the argument that watching crime dramas helps people avoid becoming victims of cybercrime is a bit tenuous and could be better supported with more logical reasoning. To improve, ensure that each point is fully extended with concrete examples or deeper explanations rather than just stating the idea.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Therefore', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition in the second paragraph from the popularity of crime dramas to the mention of 'crime files' is slightly abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as 'this concept' in the second paragraph, which does not clearly refer back to a specific antecedent. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will enhance the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, such as 'contemporary era', 'spectators', and 'cybercrime'. However, there are instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'visualizing crime at social platforms' (instead of 'viewing crime content on social media') and 'get a rid of' (instead of 'get rid of'). Some phrasing is repetitive, and there is a lack of more sophisticated or idiomatic vocabulary that would elevate the response to a higher band. Focusing on learning common collocations and more precise academic terminology will help improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of the writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('novels and tv shows becomes') and incorrect article usage ('a popular tv show named crime files displays the real-time crime cases'). There are also minor punctuation and phrasing errors throughout. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article consistency to improve your accuracy.
