Student answer (Band 5.5)

In most part of world, crime TV serial and books are increasing thier oudiance everyday. I beleive TV crime dramas and book gaining popularity in all age of people specially among youth. Overall essay shall discuss about crime novels and TV crime dramam and their viewers in the society by propsing opinion with suitable conclusion.

Human are suspense seekers are by nature and love to be lost into epic and fictions. In the current age, we are living in very fast pace and digital envoirnment, it provides all of conveniance with less physical acticities. Most of the generation spend time while using mobile and TV serials. Some viewers prefer to watch or read comedy and hummor, but most of people prefer to watch or read crime stories, number of growing teen agers are highest among them. Directors and writer focus and gloryfy the wepons, powers in thier drama and stories which facinate the young immature people. that is the reason more people get attaracted to criminal storries.

During my childhood, there was alot of choice of novels but crime story books used to be in high demand. Myself and fellows used to wait whole month till new monthly novel published to it's users. Novels were more about unrealistic crime stories which drives our mind to imaginations and in state of suspence. It was not lesser then addiction which force our mind to wait for month till next volume comes to know more about next scense or plot of story.

To conclude, crime movies is spreading like addiction in our societies, we should control it by proper monitring of our young generations. Furthermore, governments should regulate the laws to control the senstive content.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for popularity and a personal opinion. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention that humans are 'suspense seekers' and that directors 'glorify weapons,' these points are not fully extended or supported with specific examples beyond personal anecdotes. The position is clear, but the argument lacks depth. To improve, ensure that each reason is supported by a clear explanation or a broader societal observation rather than just personal experience. The introduction is a bit repetitive, and the conclusion introduces new ideas (government regulation) that were not discussed in the body paragraphs, which affects the overall coherence of your argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow between sentences is often hindered by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore' and 'To conclude,' but they are sometimes used mechanically or incorrectly (e.g., 'Myself and fellows used to wait'). The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between the general discussion of popularity and your personal experience feels abrupt. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the readability and logical progression of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'oudiance', 'beleive', 'envoirnment', 'acticities', 'wepons', 'facinate', 'attaracted', 'senstive') which occasionally impede the reader's flow. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations, such as 'most part of world' instead of 'most parts of the world'. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'gripping narratives', 'psychological appeal', or 'societal impact', and ensure that your spelling is accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentences, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that often distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'crime TV serial and books are increasing'), missing articles (e.g., 'in most part of world'), and incorrect word forms (e.g., 'human are suspense seekers'). Some sentences are poorly constructed, such as 'It was not lesser then addiction which force our mind'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the text from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence structure and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be beneficial.
