Student answer (Band 5.0)
In most countries nowadays are popularizing crime fictions by displaying them on electronic devices and also in hard copies. This will be very detrimental to the society we live in. i strongly disagree with popularizing such scene
Firstly, the young one can easily practice what they have actually watched on the television or even heard on radio this can lead to normalization of the practice of such scene among the little ones, For instance a movie scenario where rubbery of banks are planned and executed will lead children to make such attempt from home on how to become a criminal, our young once have normalized smoking of Indian hemp due to a practice seen music videos of several artists
secondly , in a society where crime pays evil will always succeed, where several crimes were attempted and success rate was high this can be linked to the practice of such crime from some documentaries making such fiction to be a reality and crime to be on a rise. An example of such incidence is seen in rubbery at gun point where criminal make an attempt to steal a car to use for rubbery, this have lead to increase in car theft in the society.
Government should make law too place a ban such practice as it will increase in more incidence in the future,
In conclusion, the practice to popularize crime movies and documents have lead to much more advanced case scenarios worst than ones watched on set. government should place a ban on such activities as this will destroy our society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for popularity and expressing a personal opinion. However, the development is limited. While you provide reasons such as the imitation of criminal behavior by youth, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The prompt asks why these shows are popular, but your response focuses almost exclusively on the negative consequences of watching them, rather than exploring the psychological or entertainment factors that drive their popularity. To improve, ensure you directly answer all parts of the question with balanced, well-supported arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'secondly, in a society where crime pays evil will always succeed' is disjointed and lacks a clear logical link to the previous paragraph. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors. Using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') would help improve the logical progression of your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You frequently use the word 'practice' and 'scene' in contexts where they do not fit naturally, such as 'normalization of the practice of such scene'. There are also significant spelling errors, such as 'rubbery' instead of 'robbery' and 'incidence' used where 'incidents' was intended. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, focus on learning collocations and using more precise vocabulary related to the topic of media and social influence.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('our young once have normalized'), punctuation (missing full stops and incorrect comma usage), and sentence structure (run-on sentences). The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. Complex structures are attempted but are often faulty, such as 'government should make law too place a ban such practice'. Improving your control over basic sentence construction and proofreading for punctuation errors will significantly improve your score.
