Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for popularity and a personal opinion. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention suspense and entertainment as reasons, these points could be expanded with more depth. The personal opinion is clear, but the discussion on negative aspects is brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is supported by more detailed explanation or analysis rather than just stating the idea. The structure is logical, but the content feels a bit repetitive in the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'For example', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally imprecise (e.g., 'these kind of shows'). To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that pronouns clearly refer back to the intended nouns to create a smoother, more sophisticated progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You use a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, such as 'suspensful', 'investigation', and 'plot twist'. However, there are several inaccuracies in word choice and spelling, such as 'curios' instead of 'curious', 'comitted' instead of 'committed', and 'there' instead of 'their'. The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. Focusing on correct collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing will help you demonstrate a more flexible command of the language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('everyone have', 'everybody like'), missing articles ('on Indian TV channel'), and punctuation errors (spaces before commas). While these errors do not prevent communication, they are persistent. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammar rules like pluralization and verb conjugation, and try to incorporate more complex sentence forms with greater accuracy.
