Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for popularity and your personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention that crime dramas provide 'guidance' and 'survival' skills, this point is not clearly explained or supported with logical reasoning. Similarly, the argument that these shows cause crime is asserted but lacks a nuanced connection between fiction and real-world criminal behavior. The example regarding unemployment in Uttar Pradesh is relevant but feels disconnected from the core argument about the influence of media. To improve, ensure that each main idea is fully explored with clear, logical steps rather than just stating a belief.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'This thing influence people in bad way' is a weak transition, and 'In my perspective' is used incorrectly. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from the popularity of crime shows to the 'benefits' of guidance is abrupt. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'on the contrary') would significantly enhance the flow and logical progression of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is limited and often repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'people'. There are also several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'increasing significant feature' (should be 'increasingly significant') and 'crime set scenes'. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'TRP' and 'unemployment ratio', the overall range is not broad enough to demonstrate flexibility or precision. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated synonyms and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There is a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but the essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('These are become', 'peoples likes it'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles ('in a recent times', 'in a last year survey'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be a highly effective way to improve your score.
