Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, many countries are encouraging TV shows and novels include crime stories. This is because, such stories include high-level suspense in them. I personally believe that such kind of TV shows which include violent contents should not be promoted.
One of the major reasons why crime novels and TV crime dramas are becoming popular is that it contains high-level suspense that attracts more viewers. This is largely because, viewers often find themselves involved in such stories and try to solve those cases on their own. For example, if an individual watches a theft based drama, they try to find the real thief even before the episode ends. As a result, when they find a real thief in a drama, they show more interest in those genres and wait for the next episode.
However, I personally believe that Tv shows which include violent contents should be restricted to a certain age groups. This is mainly due to, younger people get addicted to violent content and may try to adapt that profession. For instance, when a teenager gets overinvolved in such Tv shows and novels, they try to adapt that profession. Additionally, TV shows indirectly guide people about the crime and make it easier for youngsters to be influenced. As a result, it can ruin a child's future if he commits any crime.
To conclude, Although crime TV shows have higher popularity among people, they tend to impact a bad impression on the viewers. Due to which, there are chances that people may implement such crimes in their real lives. Therefore, I believe that these shows should be restricted to group of certain people and with limited episodes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for popularity and your personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument that viewers 'try to adapt that profession' is mentioned twice in the third paragraph without clear logical progression or nuance. While your position is clear, the supporting arguments lack depth and rely on generalizations about how crime dramas influence behavior. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point rather than restating the same concern regarding violence and imitation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'As a result,' 'However,' and 'Additionally,' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'Due to which' at the start of a sentence in the conclusion, which is not standard English. Furthermore, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly when using 'they' or 'such stories' without a precise antecedent. Improving the flow between sentences would help the essay read more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'suspense,' 'violent contents,' and 'genres.' However, there is a lack of variety and precision. Phrases like 'adapt that profession' are used incorrectly in this context (you likely mean 'imitate criminal behavior' or 'emulate criminal acts'). There is also some repetition of basic words. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and avoid repeating the same phrases throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors. For example, 'TV shows include crime stories' should be 'TV shows include crime stories' or 'TV shows feature crime stories.' There are also issues with article usage ('a certain age groups') and prepositional phrases ('due to, younger people'). While these errors do not prevent understanding, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately.
