Student answer (Band 6.0)
At present, in many nations, crime books as well as crime shows are increasingly popular. This essay will discuss why this habit is growing common and I strongly believe that it is a wrong practice to share such cases with people through TVs or books.
One of the significant reasons for growing up the demand of crime related books or TV series is to aware public. Most of the TV channels or storylines share crime incidents with people in order to make people stay connected with the world and inform them how things can happen with a blink of an eye. In addition to this, the young adults like to live in an imaginary world. The young generation are more influenced by such fictions and stories which they believe them as real stories. As a result, they like to live in v bc such world which not only teaches them a lesson but keep them aware and suggest how to stay safe if such situation occurs.
However, these serials or story books teaches them to stay informed and stay safe, it leaves the strong impression on the mind of people. These stories casted either on TV channels or read a fiction crime book, delivers wrong message to the audiences. Furthermore, it has inclined the crime rate.To take an example, 30% of the criminals in Indian local jails have confessed that they were inspired by the TV shows and followed the instructions to commit a crime. Consequently, such fictional movies or books has raised the crime rate rather aware public.
In conclusion, although these crime shows along with crime novels keep the general public informed and suggested them to stay alert, I firmly believe that sharing of such ideas or incidents ultimately effect negatively and enhances the crime rate. So, there is a need to work on such shows and books.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for popularity and your personal opinion. You clearly state your position in the introduction and maintain it throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide a specific example regarding crime rates in India, the explanation of why young adults are drawn to these stories is a bit repetitive and lacks depth. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a distinct, well-supported argument rather than restating the same point about 'awareness' multiple times. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of analysis could be improved.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition to this,' 'However,' and 'Consequently' to link your thoughts. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'v bc such world.' The use of referencing is generally clear, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall readability and flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'incidents,' 'fictional,' and 'confessed.' However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'growing up the demand' (instead of 'increasing the demand') and 'casted' (instead of 'broadcast' or 'portrayed'). Additionally, there are some minor spelling or typographical errors like 'v bc.' To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your vocabulary choices are natural and contextually appropriate for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('these serials... teaches them'), incorrect verb forms ('these fictional movies... has raised'), and awkward sentence construction ('sharing of such ideas or incidents ultimately effect negatively'). While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would significantly improve your accuracy.
