Student answer (Band 5.0)

The modern world is growing rapidly in all innovations whether its science, dramas and fashion. Todays, crime dramas and books are gaining a popularity among their genors. I will discuss the reasons why this trend is happen before reaching my opinion.

In the recent years, cinema or theatre industry gained a huge popularity. They worked a lot to give a good cinematic view to their fans. As compare to the past there stories are limited to biography of famous leader or Patoritism and on true based event such as history or religion. However, this stories are not influnced the people to watch or the curiosity to watch next episodes because they already know the storyline and drama industry is not able to manufacture this stories like their own taste.

Therefore, new era starts, which present the movie or drama in more adventure way that people eyes guled on the screen. They research for the audiance preference, which includes fiction crime drama, romantic and animation movies. Another reasons against popularity of the crime drama and books is the unemployment. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, but the development of ideas is often illogical or lacks clarity. For instance, the claim that people watch crime dramas to learn how to commit crimes to become rich is a significant over-generalisation and lacks supporting evidence. The position is stated but not consistently maintained, and the conclusion is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence. The ideas regarding the shift from historical dramas to crime fiction are relevant but are expressed with limited depth and clarity, preventing the response from reaching a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear transitions. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'Therefore' and 'In conclusion', they are often used incorrectly or do not logically link the preceding and following sentences. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the abrupt ending of the final paragraph significantly impacts the overall coherence of the piece. The structure is mechanical rather than fluid.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'genors', 'Patoritism', 'influnced', 'necisities', 'contamprary', 'authouritis') and word choice issues (e.g., 'adventure way' instead of 'adventurous manner', 'perform this crime' instead of 'commit crimes'). These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. The student attempts to use more complex vocabulary, but the lack of precision and the high frequency of spelling mistakes prevent a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently marred by grammatical errors. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('this stories are not influnced'), article usage, and tense consistency ('new era starts'). Punctuation is also problematic, with missing commas and incorrect sentence boundaries. While the meaning is generally discernible, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction limits the range and accuracy significantly.
