IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In many countries today, crime novels and TV crime dramas are becoming more and more popular. Why do you think these books and TV shows are popular? What is your opinion of crime fiction and TV crime dramas?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this contemporary world, crime novels and television crime serials are seeing widely in many nations. These books and Tv shows are becoming center of attraction because of its suspense of story and innovative ideas of crime. I believe this type of books and television serials increase the awareness of suspicious people or criminal mindset among citizens.

To begin with, there are multiple reasons behind getting popularity among individuals. First and foremost reason is that suspense of tales. In other words, the author of books or crime Tv shows lure spectator to see upcoming episodes by narrating suspense at last. As a result, people get attraction to read whole book or see shows at the end of story to get final result of the story. Another major reason is the innovative way of crime scene elaborated. To elaborate, people want to know the who is the culprit and which techniques criminals are using to perform crime, which keep masses attraction at the end of the story. For instance, nowadays in India, most of the web series are becoming very popular because all the series are suspenseful and innovative crime techniques attract youngster to see whole story.

As per my perspective, these crime novels and crime Tv shows are educating normal people to be careful in their life. By watching these serials people get to know whom they have to trust and prevent them to involve in various criminal activities. Also, they get knowledge about how to solve the problem and aware them with necessary steps need to follow after becoming victim of crime.

In conclusion, although crime novels and television crime drams are luring people to see the innovative criminal minds and for enjoyment, I believe that these books or serials are educating individuals about criminal mindset and how to prevent them from criminal activities
