Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays people are enjoying more of crime novels and TV crime dramas over other varieties because of several reasons such as suspenseful and awareness from true events. In my opinion, growing popularity in such genres help people trusting on justice system by showing laws and modern technological advancement helping in resloving crimes and preventing them from happening in future.
First of all, many authors and directors are getting popular upon producing such an incredible story building. For instance, recently we observe individuals and families prefer them due to suspense and thrill throughout the story. Another reason is once observers engage in exploring such fantacies, they crave more and authors keep on extending their stories to keep audience engaged.
Secondly, morden day crime stroies are very informative based on awareness provided to general viewers. For example, stories based on true events are preferable to audiance as an educational topic rather than considering it as a fictional. Many crimes that happened in near past makes people aware about being alert and protective, which makes the preferable category to read and watch. Moreover, such programs make people cautious about protecting personal infromation as digital frauds are growing sharply, especially related to social media and banking.
To conclude, I would like say watching such shows and reading books about crime truely helps people learn new frauds and crimes happening and safeguard them from future events, along with the creative techniques used by authors for imagination.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the popularity of crime fiction and your personal opinion. However, the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of your arguments. While you provide reasons such as suspense and educational value, the development is somewhat superficial. The ideas are relevant, but they could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis to fully satisfy the task. Because the length requirement was not met, the development of ideas is constrained, resulting in a lower score for this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', and 'To conclude' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the logical progression is slightly disjointed. For example, the transition between the popularity of crime stories and the educational aspect could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall cohesion lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for higher bands.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'suspenseful', 'technological advancement', and 'cautious'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'resloving' (resolving), 'fantacies' (fantasies), 'morden' (modern), and 'infromation' (information). These spelling and word-choice errors do not impede communication, but they indicate a lack of precision. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of key terms related to the topic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'people are enjoying more of crime novels' (people enjoy crime novels more), 'help people trusting on justice' (help people trust in the justice system), and 'stories based on true events are preferable to audiance as an educational topic rather than considering it as a fictional' (which contains issues with article usage and word form). While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are persistent enough to limit the score.
