Student answer (Band 5.0)
There is a significant increase seen in dramas and novels related to crime in most of the nations as it gives attentio towards knowledge about ctiminal activities and become a part of their leisure time. In my point of view, it is crucial to be shown on TV and books to provide some knowledge about good and bad deeds.
First and the foremost point is, not everyone is aware of all illegal activities and some might think that such activities are normal to perform without any fear of the results owing to this manu people get stuck into it and face major concerns but with the help of such shows and books, individuals get aware of such actions government can take regarding bad work. For instance, there is a famous CID drama TV serial in India which is not only a way to inform people about crime but also became an activity to watch in free time. Secondly, Books related crime helps to enhance the ability to read along with that there are some books people can read to get success in criminology. With that, studies can become more interesting and easy to learn.
In my point of view, I also divert my whole time watching movies and reels on social media but if i spend my time to look after it then it will develop my menal ability related to crime. For example, I have seen lots of crime done in downtown Vancouber in Canada, by drug addicted people because of that soemn countries shows some ways to be protected from them.
To conclude, it is a positive thing to be done by most of the countries to show such stuff on media and novels to provide some knowledge about crime, it is suggested, parent should take a look on it and they should encourage there kids to watch these crime scenes rather than watching cartoons.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both the reasons for the popularity of crime novels and TV dramas and providing a clear personal opinion. The student suggests that these media raise awareness about illegal activities and provide a constructive leisure activity. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, particularly in the second half of the essay where the arguments regarding reading comprehension and personal anecdotes about Vancouver lack depth and clarity. The position is stated but struggles with logical extension. According to the band descriptors, this reflects a Band 5 to 6 profile where the task is addressed, but ideas are occasionally under-developed or unclear.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text is organized into paragraphs, attempting a logical progression from causes to personal opinions and a conclusion. However, cohesion is often faulty and mechanical. Phrases like 'First and the foremost point is' and 'Secondly' are used, but referencing is frequently unclear, and sentences often run together without appropriate punctuation or connective tissue. For example, the sentence 'With that, studies can become more interesting and easy to learn' lacks a clear antecedent. Paragraphing is present, but overall progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and weak transitions, aligning closely with Band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, with attempts at less common items such as 'criminology', 'leisure time', and 'illegal activities'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'attentio' for attention, 'ctiminal' for criminal, 'manu' for many, and 'menal' for mental. These lexical inaccuracies and typos occasionally cause difficulty for the reader and restrict the range, which corresponds to a Band 5 performance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many complex sentences are faulty and contain frequent grammatical errors. For instance, run-on sentences such as 'Secondly, Books related crime helps to enhance the ability to read along with that there are some books people can read to get success in criminology' demonstrate poor clause control. Subject-verb agreement errors ('books related crime helps', 'parent should take a look') and punctuation issues are common. Because the errors are frequent and occasionally impede smooth understanding, a Band 5 score is appropriate.
