Student answer (Band 5.0)
Over the past few decades, the crime fictions and TV crime dramas have becoming the more popular. According to me, it is being popularised because of the youth are tend to like this type of content. There are numerous significant reasons behind these popularity. This essay will discuss those reasons in further talk.
The foremost reason is that people have been awared by certain crime novels as well as through TV crime drama. It helps to alert the people that it might be possible to occur with them in future. Additionally, in developing countries, it has become more popular to showcase the reality of the cime. For instance, in many countries, ceratin types of crime occured by people, these influence has been reduced by such type of novel or TV programme.
The second most famous reason is that the actors, who performed in thsese type of dramas. Moreover, the characters, which has been utilized to create a crime novel. Due to that famous characters as well as acters, people are exited to read and watch the novels and dramas, respectively. Ultimately, the global ecomony has been risen. For example, many web series or TV shows have been made on the crime topics, and eventually it becomes popular among the nation. One of the famous TV show is "Crime Petrol." Nowadays, it is very famous show in India. There are lots of real stories have shown to alert people.
From my perspective, it is necessary to promote the crime related TV shows in various language. So that, the people become alert and stay safe in their lives.
In conclusion, although it has some negative impacts as well, but the positive side outweigh the negative impacts. Governments and organisations should allocate the certain amount of fund to make such type of TV shows and to publish the drama novels.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the task: why crime fiction and TV dramas are popular, and the writer's personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times repetitive. For instance, the reasons given for popularity focus largely on 'alerting people,' and the second point about actors and characters lacks clear expansion. The writer states their opinion in the conclusion and introduction ('the positive side outweigh the negative impacts'), but the supporting arguments lack depth and rely on over-generalisation. Furthermore, the example 'Crime Petrol' is misspelt as 'Crime Petrol' instead of 'Crime Patrol,' though the intent is understood. Because the response covers all parts of the prompt with a clear, albeit basic, position, it aligns with Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, though the structuring of body paragraphs is somewhat disjointed. While basic cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'Additionally,' 'The second most famous reason,' 'In conclusion'), referencing and logical progression are frequently faulty. For example, the sentence 'This essay will discuss those reasons in further talk' is unnatural, and transitions between sentences can be abrupt. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas lacks cohesive flow, particularly in the third body paragraph where the discussion jumps from actors to the global economy and then to specific TV shows. This lack of smooth progression places the response at Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The lexical resource is limited and basic. The student frequently repeats words such as 'popular,' 'crime,' 'novel,' and 'dramas' rather than using a wider range of synonyms. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'crime fictions,' 'awared' instead of 'aware,' 'acters' instead of 'actors,' and 'drama novels.' Phrasing like 'these influence has been reduced' demonstrates a weak grasp of collocation and word formation. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic message, the frequent errors in word choice and spelling cause some difficulty for the reader, fitting the Band 5.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writing displays a very limited range of structures, with frequent grammatical errors. There are persistent issues with verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as 'have becoming the more popular,' 'the youth are tend to like,' and 'there are lots of real stories have shown.' Passive voice constructions are often misused, as seen in 'ceratin types of crime occured by people.' Complex sentence attempts are frequently faulty and obscure meaning in places. Because errors are frequent, cause constant difficulty for the reader, and basic structures dominate, the response warrants a Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on positive achievement of simple sentences.
