IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In many countries today, crime novels and TV crime dramas are becoming more and more popular. Why do you think these books and TV shows are popular? What is your opinion of crime fiction and TV crime dramas?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Now-a-days people are showing more interest towards crime novels and dramas. I totally agree with the statement. Even I am the person who prefer to watch crime thriller movies in my free time.

There are many reasons to grab people's attention towards crime thriller dramas. First interesting thing many thriller movies are the real incidents in the society. Therefore, many people are willing to know the real facts about the case. Moreover, crime thrillers increase the curiosity of the one who is watching it because it will design with many suspenses. The one who is watching the thriller completely involve into the drama as we are solving the case. Most of the movies these days where we can easliy anticipate the climax. However, crime thrillers are the only genre still we cannot guess the climax.

I love watching crime thrillers. I prefer to watch tv only on weekends due to busy schedule on weekdays. However, I started watching a webseries in recent times called From it was recommended by a actor in a tv show. The episodes of the series is designed in such a way a where we cannot stop ourselves in watching the next episode. Each and every episode they end with a twist, it's a completely engaging series. I finished watching two seasons of the series in just 2 days. Now I started watching the season 3 in weekdays because i can not hold myself till weekend.

Overall, I feel the one who is directing a crime thriller movies, they have to conclude the drama with a positive message. so, people will take a reight message from it.
