IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In many countries today, crime novels and TV crime dramas are becoming more and more popular. Why do you think these books and TV shows are popular? What is your opinion of crime fiction and TV crime dramas?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Undoubtedly, in this contemporary era, crime movies and bookes have become famous in society. There are plenty of causes behind this phenomenian which this essay will explain in the subsequent pqaragraphs along with my own concern regarding this.
To begin with, there are multifarious reasons why crime novels and dramas are becoming popular among people. Initialy, with the assist of these shows, people become aware towards society's issues. To elaborate it, by watching these programe, individual can obtain vast knowledge about what is going on in community and how and why there are a lot of crimes commited in these days becuase tv shows provide some relevant factors behind these offences. For instance, most of the people stay up to date about circumstance only becuase of tv serial since some people do not like to read newspapers but by watching these they can know reasons behind the crimes. Hence, tv shows and story novels nbecome popualr not only for spreading awareness, but also it is the sourse of entrainment.
As fer as I am concered, crfime fiction and stories should not be telecast becuase it create fear among people. To expain it, people who like to watch these kind of the serial, they always live in scary ambiance which give birth a lot of physchological disorde, and they cannot enjoy their life. Due to it, they feel worries about their future in whoch they spoil their precious present moments of life. To cite an example, some people become addicted to wath these crime patrol and they starte4d to imgaine evertthing in their life that put drastic effects not only their life, butg also it destroyed their relationship bonds with each other. Therefour, these kinf of the stories and dramas should not be popular.
In conclusion, although it is good for increasing awarfeness, its serious drewbacks should not be overlooked.
