IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In many countries today, crime novels and TV crime dramas are becoming more and more popular. Why do you think these books and TV shows are popular? What is your opinion of crime fiction and TV crime dramas?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, watching crime thriller shows and reading crime books are increasing day by day due to having good stroryline and suspence. Even in m y perspective, it is better to watch crime TV dramas than daily soap drama as they are more relatable to our life.

There are few reasons behind increasing viewers on crime shows. Firstly, these kind of shows are not only entertaining but also engaging in its own way. They have built an amazng story and they are not even repeating. Every time when people are watching it they have no idea about ending. In this way, they are assuming the next connective outcomes which is improving their imagination. Secondly, in most of the countries, they are portraying real life incidents where people get to know about reality. Which is very beneficial to live both safer and happy life. For example, In india, crime petrol is one of the most viewing shows and it is still running everyday in afternoon. It has become indians favourite show as director only show episodes based on real life. Apart from this at the end of the episode they also explain how to overcome that issue. In such a way people can relate their life and be more precausious when they go out.

I think, thriller crime shows are one of the great source of entertainment. Apart from your busy life you can experience thrill, excitement, and happiness by reading and watching this genre. person who are least interested in this can also try to gain some different experience. As rather than wastng your timeon waching both horror and comedy shows, it will give you an oppurtunity to gain your knowledge about surrounding. Ultimately it will help you to face reality and will make you and your family strong.

overall, I feel either reading crime novels or watching crime movies will improve your imagination power. Children can become stronger in their early age and it will make you knowledgble as well.
