Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, digital crime dramas and crime books are becoming more and more famous. There is a strong reason to increase because of public authoritise. In my opinion it is a good sign and need to come alot in future on this genre.

Most of the country authoritise are encouring and giving notices to digital production houses and novels organisation. Because society need to get Knowledge about how crimes will happen and what precautions need to follow in future. Not only that our history of crimes we can show the public and brake the myth as well and people are start watching them and it is became so popular and generate revenue as well awearness about the crimes in the society.

Therefore,it is a good sign as well. Firstly, the robberies will reduce in the future because, most people will get the knowleadge how to protect themselves. For example, if any signs of crime is happeing we can predict ahead because of crime thrillers. As result, we can try to stop it happening. Secondly, not only that the IQ level also increase while watching crime thriller because the viewers also guess what will happen in next scene and involved to solve the mystery. For example, a person can solve the question in the class who watch drama or read the novel. As result, They can keep more attention in the class then non watchers.

There is a problem aswell, there is a possibility if a person want to become a criminal while watching drama it can happen in few cases. For example, if authorities failed to capture the criminal it indirectly trigger the criminal mindset. As result, there is a bad influence if a criminal escape either in drama or novel, there is a chances for commeners can become a criminals.

In conclusion, Althrough there is a chances to become criminal. In my opinion there is lot of benefit for audience and authorities through the telivision or novel crime thrillers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing reasons for the popularity of crime fiction and giving an opinion on them. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes unclear due to weak expression. For instance, the argument that crime shows increase IQ levels is underdeveloped and lacks realistic justification. The writer attempts a position throughout the essay, stating that these shows are a good sign because they provide knowledge and reduce robberies, but the supporting arguments often veer into over-generalisation. Furthermore, some points, such as public authorities encouraging production houses, are muddled and poorly explained. Because all parts of the prompt are touched upon but lack thorough development, this performance aligns most closely with Band 5 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay has a basic structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing some organisation. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression, and the logical links between ideas are frequently strained. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Therefore', 'Firstly', and 'Secondly', but they are often inaccurate or mechanically applied. For example, 'There is a problem aswell, there is a possibility if a person want...' demonstrates run-on phrasing and poor referencing, making the logical transitions choppy and difficult to follow. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs is weak. These features place the response at Band 5.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and frequently repetitive, with words like 'crime', 'drama', 'novel', and 'authorities' overused throughout the text. There are numerous word choice and spelling errors, such as 'authoritise' instead of 'authorities', 'encouring' instead of 'encouraging', 'awearness' instead of 'awareness', 'knowleadge' instead of 'knowledge', and 'commeners' instead of 'commoners'. These noticeable errors and limited lexical range cause occasional difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from achieving a higher band, fitting the Band 5 descriptors where vocabulary is minimally adequate for the task.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex ones. Frequent grammatical errors occur throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('society need', 'IQ level also increase'), incorrect prepositions, and pervasive punctuation errors like comma splices ('Therefore,it is a good sign as well.'). Sentences such as 'As result, there is a bad influence if a criminal escape either in drama or novel, there is a chances for commeners can become a criminals' contain multiple structural and morphological errors that impede readability. Consequently, this falls firmly into the Band 5 category.
