IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In many countries today, crime novels and TV crime dramas are becoming more and more popular. Why do you think these books and TV shows are popular? What is your opinion of crime fiction and TV crime dramas?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 5.0)

Crime novels and TV crime dramas are becomming more and more popular as people are bored of watching same love stories with happy endings.There is no variability in entertainment series. Same jokes are thrown.Reality based dramas may have some impact but in the end stories are directed towards happy endings as audience wants to see happy ending.

In many countries population explosion and growing industrialization has raised standards of living. War between countries implies impact on economy and third world counteries suffer a lot which results in increasing crime rate.Writers are inclined to write serial criminal stories to attract attention of audience and to illustrate the serious issues society is facing due to poverty. Crime novels and dramas attract the attention of audience as they contain some hidden facts at every point that drained audience interest.

Police uniforms and perks thay carry are always a charm for children.Crime dramas are always equally popular among children.People belonging to all generations can sit and watch together.

The major thing that attracts children is the use of modern technology to reach the criminals.How forensic teams come, collect samples from crime scene make it very interesting.

I support variety of dramas must be played on TV and variety of Novels must be written by writes verse traditional love stories and the same happy endings.Crime TV dramas and crime novels will have impact in society as follows

1. They can play role in crime reduction.As our young generation will learn that with the help of modern technologies no crminal can escape law.

2. It will help with the better upbringing of our children. They will learn what is wrong and what is right.

3.It will help in growth of drama industry as many people have left watching dramas.

4.Novel readers will grow in number.

5.law enforcement will prevail.
