Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, a growing number of people have preferred to read crime fiction and watch dramas related to crime on television. There are numerous reasons of this preference. In my views, it provides entertainment as well as awareness regarding safety.
The primary reason is that readers may find quite interesting crime narratives to read because a whole story is full of suspense, which helps individual to keep maintain their interest. For instance, a story of serial killer may influence its readers to read more and more until it ends. Therefore, criminal stories can have a significant impact on the public.
Moreover, There are many crime series are being telecasted on the television as it is a good form of entertainment. The Audience may not feel bored while watching these shows because a script is always written in a such way that viewers remain interested throughout the show. For example, the way police department solve the case by catching law breakers. Hence, individuals are easily attracted towards criminal dramas and movies.
From my perspective, These novels and shows can make citizens aware of crime like how to identify the offender behavior. For example, on the television, broadcasters always try to covey meaningful message to the public at the end of their story. So that people can be alerted if they find something suspicious around their surrounding. Moving further, owing to busy life, everyone wants to feel relax and to do something interesting. That is why, crime fictions and dramas can keep them entertained.
In conclusion, It is a positive development as people get valuable knowledge with regard to safety and also enjoyment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses both questions: it explains popularity through suspense and entertainment, and gives a positive opinion based on enjoyment and safety awareness. The position is clear in the introduction and conclusion. Examples such as readers following a serial-killer story and viewers watching police solve cases are relevant, but they are general and would be stronger if developed with a specific illustration or explanation of how these programmes influence audiences. The safety-awareness point is also asserted rather than fully demonstrated; the claim that viewers learn to identify offender behaviour needs clarification. Overall, the main ideas are appropriate, though some are less fully supported than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs explaining popularity and your opinion, and a conclusion. The progression from suspense to entertainment and then to safety awareness is easy to follow. Linking expressions such as “The primary reason,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections feel mechanical, and “Moving further” introduces a second point without clearly showing how it relates to the preceding safety-awareness idea. The example beginning “For example, the way police department solve the case” is also a fragment, which interrupts the flow. Clearer links between claims and examples, and more precise referencing, would make the organisation more fluent.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “suspense,” “serial killer,” “law breakers,” and “suspicious,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “a significant impact on the public.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, however: “reasons of this preference,” “keep maintain their interest,” and “feel relax” do not sound idiomatic. “Crime fictions” is also an awkward plural form in this context. These choices do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Focus on learning common word partnerships and checking word forms when revising.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response includes both simple sentences and attempts at complex structures, for example, “The audience may not feel bored while watching these shows because a script is always written…” This shows some range, and the main message remains understandable. However, some grammatical errors recur. In “There are many crime series are being telecasted,” two clause structures are combined incorrectly; write “Many crime series are shown on television.” The sentence “which helps individual to keep maintain their interest” has problems with the article, verb pattern, and duplicated verb. There are also sentence-boundary issues, as in “So that people can be alerted,” which is not a complete sentence on its own. Improve clause construction, articles, and punctuation while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
