It is an ongoing debate that in most of the countries nowadays , crime novels and tv crime dramas are becoming significantly in demand. There are curtain reasons of their popularity. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both questions by offering reasons for the popularity of crime fiction and stating that you personally think it creates suspense and is easily available. The examples of CID and Twilight show an attempt to support your points. However, the opinion is only briefly stated and is not developed into a clear evaluation of crime novels and dramas; the conclusion mainly repeats that they are popular. Some reasons are also unclear or weakly connected to crime fiction, such as having leisure time or prior knowledge. To strengthen the response, explain more specifically what audiences enjoy about crime stories and give a fuller, consistent opinion about their value or drawbacks. The response meets the required length; eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally group related points, and transitions such as “Furthermore” and “To conclude” help signal movement between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because several points are joined into long sentences, and links between claims are not always clear. For example, the discussion moves from free television streaming to viewers’ interest in suspense without clearly explaining the connection. The conclusion adds little beyond repeating the popularity claim. Use shorter, more focused sentences, make each paragraph develop one main reason, and use referencing and linking phrases to show how each example supports that reason.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “suspense,” “fictional stories,” “popularity,” and “cost-effective,” and these choices help communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, sometimes making the intended meaning harder to understand. Examples include “curtain reasons,” “gets fame on a larger scale,” and “feasibility their streaming is almost free.” There are also frequent spelling and word-form problems, such as “indiviuals,” “intrested,” and “interet.” Aim for precise collocations and check spelling carefully. Replacing vague phrases with expressions such as “audiences are drawn to suspenseful plots” would make the discussion clearer and more appropriate for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “as,” and the overall meaning can usually be understood. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty or difficult to follow. Subject–verb agreement errors occur in “these novels and books creates” and “these crime books and novels gets”; articles and sentence construction are also problematic in “there is a show name as CID comes live.” Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, including the lowercase “i” and run-on sentences that combine several ideas. Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses carefully, checking agreement, articles and punctuation.
