Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays , TV crime shows and cime books are getting widly famous among individuals from numerous countries . this essay will examine haw advertisements and the peers plays a crucial roles in it and in my openion this should not be presented openly for younge genration .

The foremost reason for the popularity of this kind of books and dramas are the advertisements and social media as they want to promote their prduction of this kind of books and telecasts so they spend more to make it famouse among genration so the young genretion can get hooked with this kind of shows . secondly , the other main reason behind it can be the peer pressure as if one could not be aware of these novels but the masses who are in contact as friends or class mates may have interest in these becouse of which they may promote it amoung other classmates and they all can start getting interest in it .for instence , if any of the peer have a genre of reading thriller sories or watching movies like this can talk about it in his group which can result in a common interest of other peers towards these shows or books

acoording to my perspective , these dramas and books should not be presented openly as it can impact on thinking of the young genration as pupils may get influenced and want to be same as the main correcter in these which can result in a bad influence among children it could be seen by adults as a tectic of entertainment only but not to be watched by children as it can result in a criminal activity by them

to summerise this , the crime stories and dramas should be seen by adults only as a sort of entertainment only and shouldnot be seen by younger genration as they may get influenced which can result in a real crime .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you suggest advertising/social media and peer influence as reasons for popularity, and you give a clear view that crime fiction should not be openly available to younger audiences. The example of a friend discussing thriller stories with classmates helps illustrate peer influence. However, the reasons are asserted more than explained: the link between promotion and people becoming interested, for instance, needs a clearer account. Your opinion is also quite narrow, focusing on possible harm to children without explaining whether crime dramas can be enjoyable or valuable for adults. Develop each reason with a specific example and clarify the limits of your concern to make the response more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on popularity, a paragraph giving your opinion, and a brief conclusion. Sequencing words such as “firstly,” “secondly,” and “to summarise” help readers follow the main stages. However, connections within sentences are sometimes awkward, and the popularity paragraph combines two separate causes without a clear transition or enough separation. The long example beginning “if any of the peer…” is difficult to follow, while the final paragraph largely repeats the concern already stated. Use clearer topic sentences, divide the two causes more distinctly, and make references such as “these” and “it” unambiguous to improve progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “advertisements,” “peer pressure,” “thriller stories,” “influenced,” and “criminal activity.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both popularity and possible effects on young viewers. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning harder to understand. For example, “the peers plays a crucial roles” and “a genre of reading thriller stories” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “famous” is also less suitable than “popular” for books and programmes. Check spelling carefully, and learn common collocations such as “promote a programme” and “be influenced by a character.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses with “as,” “if,” and “which,” so there is some variety. The main ideas are generally recoverable, but complex sentences are often difficult to control. For example, “the foremost reason … are the advertisements” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and the sentence beginning “if any of the peer…” runs on and contains unclear clause relationships. There are also recurring issues with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, such as the lower-case starts after full stops and the comma splice in the example paragraph. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time and check agreement and punctuation.
