Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions: you suggest that realistic stories, popular writers, Korean dramas and the availability of crime shows on Netflix attract viewers, and you state that you enjoy watching them. However, the reasons are mostly listed rather than explained. For example, saying that stories are “true to life” could be developed by explaining how realistic plots create suspense or help audiences understand criminal investigations. Your opinion is present, especially in the personal example about watching a Korean series, but it is not fully clear whether you approve of crime fiction overall or simply enjoy one show. A more direct position and specific supporting examples would make the response more complete and developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure, and sequence markers such as “firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Thirdly” help signal separate points. The introduction and conclusion also show an attempt to frame the discussion. However, the paragraphs do not build a clear progression: several repeat that many people watch or read crime stories, while the third paragraph shifts to your viewing routine without clearly connecting it to the reasons for popularity. Linking words are sometimes used mechanically, and long sentences joined with “and” make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Organise the body around distinct reasons, explain each one, and use clearer references and transitions so the reader can see how each point supports your answer.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “crime novels,” “crime dramas,” “true to life,” “obsessed,” and “Netflix,” so the subject is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “so many,” “popular,” and “crime story.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “telecision,” “friction” where you mean “fiction,” and “beutifull.” Some combinations are unnatural, including “a true to life story” and “a korean episode.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for suspense, plot, characters and audience appeal, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences and use basic sequencing structures, but the range of sentence forms is limited and complex attempts are often faulty. Errors occur frequently in verb forms and agreement: “theres so many story has been made” and “people now is like to watch” do not form accurate clauses. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “a crime novels,” while sentence boundaries and capitalization are often unclear. These patterns can make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “which,” or “although.” Pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement, past and present forms, articles, and full stops.
