Recently, we can see that there is a sudden hike in crime related movies and dramas. It is creating a positive and negative effects for the same. In my opinion, It is generating negative effect on specially youths, as they easily learn what they see or read.

The principle reason is that the youth can be easily influenced at this age, by watching criminal movies they get motivated to do crime and learn new ways to do it. For instance, as per the last report of the Times of Canada, a 19 year old boy murdered his girlfriend and cut her body into 54 small peice, the same way as it is shown in Drishyam movie. Secondly, people are wasting there time in something which is not productive. They should use there time in doing some creative work.

In my point of view, After the success of super hit film Kanatada, which was related to a brutal murder of a daughter and his father was trying to solve the case and pleantly of other criminal justice related novels got famous, many individuals started liking this type of dramas. Moreover, the Directors also have started creating the same types of film due to which we can see 7 out 10 dramas are related to some kind of effense. The only thing what I like about this kind of movie is that at the end they show people getting justice.

My personal conclusion is crime novel and shows are generating new idea of crime, which is leading towards the increase in crime rate in the many nations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear negative view of crime fiction’s influence, and you offer relevant reasons: young people may imitate crimes, and viewers may spend time unproductively. The example involving a murder allegedly resembling a film scene also supports your concern. However, the task asks both why these works are popular and for your opinion. Popularity is addressed mainly in the third paragraph, through the success of a film and directors producing similar dramas, but this explanation is brief and not fully developed. Your opinion is also mostly negative, with only a short positive point about justice being served. Develop the reasons audiences enjoy these stories—such as suspense or solving a mystery—and explain your balanced view more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable paragraph structure, and the ideas are grouped broadly into concerns about young viewers, popularity, and a concluding opinion. Linking phrases such as “For instance,” “Secondly,” and “Moreover” help signal relationships between points. However, the overall progression is not always clear: the first paragraph announces positive and negative effects, but the next paragraph focuses on negative effects, while the popularity explanation appears later. Some connections are also awkward or unclear, particularly the transition from the film example to the claim that people waste time. The conclusion repeats the negative position rather than bringing together both the reasons for popularity and your opinion. Organise the body around the two task questions and make each paragraph’s purpose explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “criminal movies,” “murder,” “criminal justice,” and “getting justice,” so the reader can follow the subject. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “influenced” and “crime rate.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less natural: “a sudden hike in crime related movies,” “positive and negative effects,” and “7 out 10 dramas are related to some kind of effense.” Spelling errors such as “peice” and “there” for “their” are noticeable. Aim for precise collocations and check spelling; for example, describe the growing popularity of crime dramas rather than a “hike in” them, and use “offence” or “crime” accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a reason-and-example structure beginning “For instance” and a sentence with “due to which.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors affect clarity. Examples include “It is creating a positive and negative effects,” “the youth can be easily influenced at this age, by watching,” and “a 19 year old boy murdered his girlfriend and cut her body into 54 small peice.” There are problems with agreement, articles, punctuation, and sentence construction; “In my point of view, After…” also incorrectly capitalises the word after the comma and creates an awkward sentence. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea, then add subordinate clauses only when their grammatical links are clear.
