Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions: you suggest that crime stories offer novelty, entertainment, and a sense of alertness, and you give a qualified opinion by noting that viewers can learn from them but that violent scenes may be harmful. The example about your friend watching crime dramas after a local drug dealer was arrested makes the discussion more specific. However, some explanations are under-developed or unclear. For instance, the claim that crime dramas help people “learn how to ecape” is not explained, and the point about social-media popularity is mentioned without showing why it attracts audiences. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation, and state your overall view more directly rather than leaving it mainly to the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. However, connections within paragraphs are sometimes mechanical or unclear. The second body paragraph moves from personal preference to real stories, then to a local incident and international popularity, so its ideas do not build in a consistently clear progression. Some linking phrases, including “On the other hand” and “Additionally,” do not express the relationship between the ideas precisely. Group related points together, use clearer transitions, and make references such as “that kind of programs” more precise to improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “crime dramas,” “real stories,” “drug dealer,” “viral on social media,” and “violence,” which helps communicate the subject. There is also an attempt to express ideas beyond basic preferences, such as the claim that these programmes keep viewers alert. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “sorces,” “sperding,” “empect,” and “incenident” obscure otherwise understandable meaning. Several phrases are also unnatural, such as “feel bored from” and “huge vilence.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, while choosing more precise expressions for why audiences are drawn to crime fiction.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause in “People feel bored from action or comedy programs as they are watching them from long time” and a relative clause in the example about your friend. These attempts show some range, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries recur. For example, “Everyone have” should be “Everyone has,” while “my friend who was lives near” needs a corrected verb construction. The opening also contains a run-on structure, and the final sentence lacks a clear grammatical link between its ideas. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and past-tense forms, and divide long or joined thoughts into complete sentences with appropriate punctuation.
