Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, people are showing more interest in novels on felony and watching TV series on crime dramas in many countries. This trend is popular because story of this genre is more engaging and interesting than other categories. I believe this trend is one of the reason of growing crimes around the world.
Crime thriller is one of the most popular genre in novel and TV industry because engagement and thrill it gives to the audience. Poeple prefer to watch crime series as it provide very unique and engaging climax due to which people feel heavy adrenaline rush into their body which resulted into a binge watching of these shows. For example, crime shows like Prison break and breaking bad is very popular among viewers because it give continuous thrills throughout the show that other categories of shows generally lacks.
However, these shows and books can produce more real life criminals around the world. It is very hard to make a money in this competitive era so some poeple take robbery based shows as motivation to make easy money. They try to steal some money and get caught by police. For instance, show like money heist make some people feel like how easy to rob a money and flee thus people take this as motivation to do in a real life which eventually make them a criminal.
To conclude, although crime series and novels are very popular among people due to engagement and thrill it gives, it also motivate some individuals to do real life felony in order to make easy money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the prompt: you explain the appeal through engagement and suspense, and you give a clear opinion that crime fiction may encourage real-world offending. The examples of *Prison Break*, *Breaking Bad* and *Money Heist* make the discussion relevant. However, the explanation of popularity is mainly about thrills, while other possible reasons—such as solving a mystery or exploring danger safely—are not considered. Your concern about imitation is also asserted more than demonstrated: the claim that viewers may be motivated to rob is broad, and the example does not establish how common this effect is. Develop each point with clearer reasoning and a more balanced explanation to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining popularity, a paragraph presenting your concern, and a conclusion. The progression from appeal to possible harm is easy to follow, and linking phrases such as “For example,” “However” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of your argument. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and also shows some effective paragraphing. To make the flow more flexible and precise, reduce repeated links between ideas and clarify references. For instance, “it” in “it also motivate some individuals” could refer to the shows or the genre; naming the subject would make the conclusion clearer. More explicit links between each example and its main point would also strengthen progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “crime thriller,” “adrenaline rush,” “robbery” and “motivation,” and these choices generally make your meaning clear. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “continuous thrills” and “binge watching.” However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural: “novels on felony,” “heavy adrenaline rush,” and “make easy money” in this context could be expressed more precisely. Spelling errors such as “Poeple” and “poeple” also reduce accuracy. Aim to use natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this will help you express your ideas with greater precision while retaining the relevant crime-related vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a result clause beginning “which.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “Crime thriller is one of the most popular genre” needs plural agreement (“Crime thrillers are among the most popular genres”), while “it provide” and “it also motivate” need subject–verb agreement. Articles and sentence construction also need attention in “how easy to rob a money,” and “which resulted into a binge watching” has an awkward, inaccurate clause structure. Practise checking agreement, articles and verb forms, especially in longer sentences. More consistently accurate complex sentences would improve control without sacrificing the range you are attempting.
