Student answer (Band 6.0)
In several nations, nowadays, novels related to offence and crime Television dramas are Fan-favourite among people. Behind their popilarity, there are couple of reasons which will elaborate in this essay further. And i believe this kind of drams helps people with real life experience.
In todays's era, people like suspense and crime thriller dramas because they find fun and relaxation in this. From their busy and boring schedule, this novels and fictions helps them to relieve their stress and learn survival skill from this kind of crime. For example, crime rate is increasing day by day. Therefore, reading this kind of novels, they can learn about safety and survival skills.
However, on the flip side of it, sometimes people learn how to do crime from this kind of fiction movies. From my real life experience, one individual did roberry in bank just to become a famous. In some cases, criminal learn skills to do crime from this kind of movies. Simillarly, effects of this kind of movies on kids are adverse. As kids are quick learner, they could learn nagative things from this kind of movies which bad for their upcoming future.
In conclusion, I believe crime related movies helps people with more mindfulness and awareness but at the same time it gets some disadvantages with it. But with some restrictions like a blanket ban on watching to kids and below 18 years age of children secure them from bad effects while it helps youths to learn and aware from criminals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the prompt: you suggest that crime stories offer suspense, relaxation and practical awareness, and you give a balanced opinion by noting possible harmful effects. Your position is clearest in the conclusion, where you say they can increase “mindfulness and awareness” but also have disadvantages. However, the reasons for popularity are not developed as fully as the risks: the claim that viewers learn survival skills needs a clearer explanation, and the bank-robbery anecdote is not clearly connected to evidence about crime fiction. The final recommendation about restricting access for children is relevant, but its relationship to your overall opinion could be explained more precisely. Develop each main point with a clear explanation or a specific, well-linked example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on appeal and possible harms, and a conclusion. This gives the reader a logical route through your ideas, and signposts such as “For example,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help show the relationships between points. The organisation is generally effective, though some links feel mechanical or unclear. For instance, “From their busy and boring schedule” does not connect smoothly to the claim about relaxation, while “Therefore” introduces a safety-skills claim without fully showing how it follows. The conclusion also combines several ideas in a long sentence, making the recommendation harder to follow. Use clearer references and build each paragraph around one main point, with explanation before moving to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “suspense,” “crime thriller,” “survival skills,” “criminal,” and “adverse,” so the response can discuss both appeal and risk. Some choices are effective, but noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “popilarity,” “roberry,” “Simillarly,” and “nagative.” Several phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “Fan-favourite among people,” “learn survival skill from this kind of crime,” and “learn and aware from criminals.” These errors do not prevent the main message from being understood, but they make parts of the argument less clear and fluent. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling; choose expressions that describe the intended idea directly rather than translating word by word.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and some attempts at complex sentences, such as “As kids are quick learner, they could learn…” and “while it helps youths…”. However, control is uneven, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “this novels and fictions helps” has a mismatch between the subject and verb, while “crime related movies helps” repeats this agreement problem. The opening also contains a sentence fragment beginning “Behind their popularity,” followed by an incomplete transition, “And i believe…”. Some sentences join several ideas without clear grammatical boundaries, especially in the conclusion. Practise building accurate complex sentences and check subject–verb agreement, articles and sentence boundaries during revision.
