Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, crime is increasing day by day in every country. Crime dramas and novels are trending globally. In many parts of world, people have habit of watching these kind of shows daily. It have both positive and negitive impact to an individual in my opinion.

To start with, Crime darmas and books convay a message to everyone that how they can protect themself from the danger like that. For example, some crime drama shows real life incident from where people can relate themself that this kind of danger can come to them too. So, they can provent these incident from their life. Moreover, these crime stories are liked by young people because they have alot of suspence in them. So, they always try to find real colporate in these shows and get additcted to it.

Other than that, many entertainment organisations start making shows related to crime universe with some famous celebrities. This make people more crazy about these shows so they can watch thier ideals in diffrent roles. On the other hand, it also give some bad influence to a persons mind. Many people gets inspired by negitive roles in novles and dramas. They start commite crime in like them. That is why, many contries are start banning these kind of shows from their country.

In conclusion, I believe that crime shows and novels and getting more popular because of their intresting stories and message they convey with them. But, in some cases people gets inspire in diffrent manner which is wrong.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the prompt: you suggest that crime stories attract viewers through suspense, relatable real-life incidents and celebrity casting, and you give a balanced opinion by noting both protective messages and possible harmful influence. Your position is clearest in the conclusion, where you acknowledge that the stories are interesting but may inspire some people negatively. However, the reasons are not developed evenly. The point about suspense is briefly explained, while the claim that crime dramas teach people to protect themselves and the claim that viewers imitate criminal characters would benefit from specific, carefully explained examples. A clearer statement of your overall opinion earlier in the essay would also make your response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different aspects, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “To start with,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hand” help signal the direction of the discussion. Overall, the ideas can be followed, but some links are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “So, they always try to find real colporate” does not clearly explain how suspense leads to this behaviour, and “Other than that” introduces celebrity casting without a precise connection to the previous point. The conclusion also repeats the main ideas rather than drawing them together. Use clearer references and explain the relationship between each reason and its supporting example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “suspense,” “real life incident,” “negative roles,” and “inspired,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range and control are limited by repeated general words such as “shows,” “people,” and “crime,” as well as inaccurate word choices and collocations. For example, “real colporate” appears to mean “real culprit,” while “watch their ideals” likely means “watch their idols.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “negitive,” “intresting,” and “diffrent,” which reduce the accuracy and polish of the writing. Build a more precise range for discussing audience appeal and effects, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause in “people can relate … that this kind of danger can come to them too” and a contrast introduced by “On the other hand.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement and articles remain. Examples include “It have both positive and negitive impact,” “This make people,” and “many people gets inspired”; these need subject–verb agreement and, in places, plural forms. The sentence beginning “Crime dramas and books convey a message … that how they can protect” also has an awkward clause structure. Practise accurate agreement and build complex sentences with clear clause patterns, while checking punctuation and capitalisation.
