Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You make a relevant application and address the three requested points: you explain that you want to make your day meaningful and help others, mention carpentry and being hardworking, and say you would like to start the coming week. However, the reasons for choosing this museum and the way your carpentry skills could help are only briefly stated, while your availability is not specific about days or hours. The purpose of some sentences is also unclear, particularly the comments about other community members joining. The greeting differs from the requested “Dear Sir or Madam,” and the closing could be more formal. Develop each point with clear, relevant details to make the application more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The letter has a recognisable sequence: you introduce your application, describe a skill and personal quality, then mention when you hope to begin and close politely. This gives the reader a basic sense of its purpose. However, ideas are not consistently grouped or connected, and several sentences run together, such as the passage beginning “And also Im a hard working people.” The repeated references to voluntary work and community members do not create a clear progression, and “Hoping that…” is not clearly linked to the preceding point. Use separate paragraphs for your motivation, relevant qualities, and availability, and connect each idea with simple, accurate transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to an application, including “voluntary work,” “experience in carpentry,” “hard working,” and “looking forward to hearing from you.” These choices help communicate the general purpose. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the message less clear or natural: “join for” does not fit this context, “a couple of day” is inaccurate, and “preserved the natural beauty” seems unrelated to the museum role as described. There are also repeated forms of “join” and “help.” Choose precise expressions for applying, contributing, and describing availability, and check spelling and word forms before sending the letter.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response mainly uses short, simple statements, with a few attempts to link ideas using “because” and “so.” This communicates the broad message, but the range of sentence structures is limited and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “I want my day meaningful to help for someone needed” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “Im a hard working people” has problems with the subject and agreement. Verb forms and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “I like to start to join” and the run-on passage after “museum.” Practise complete sentences, subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation, then proofread each sentence.
