Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the main purpose by applying for the role, explaining that you want to develop your skills, and stating that you can start this week. You also mention relevant experience as a team leader and knowledge of arranging displays. However, these points are brief and not fully explained: for example, you do not say what attracts you to the museum or how your experience would help visitors or staff. Your availability is also incomplete because the task asks when you would be available, while “from this week” gives only a start date. The response is below the required 150 words, which limits the development of the application. Add specific reasons, practical examples of your qualities, and days or hours you can work.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a generally understandable sequence: you introduce yourself and your interest, describe a skill, then give your availability and close. Separate paragraphs help distinguish these points. However, the progression is quite abrupt, and the short body paragraphs do not develop or connect the ideas much. For instance, the move from wanting to “show and inhance” your skills to your display knowledge could be linked by explaining how that knowledge would benefit the museum. The closing sentence also combines your enthusiasm and request for a response without a clear, natural transition. Use fuller paragraphs and simple linking phrases to make the relationship between your motivation, experience, and availability clearer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the application, including “voluntary work,” “team leader,” “promotion,” and “contribute,” so the reader can understand the general message. However, the range is limited, and several spelling errors make the letter look less controlled: “Currantly,” “intrested,” “knowladge,” and “cummunty’s” are examples. Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “show and inhance my skills” and “dispaly things in sequince.” Aim for accurate, natural phrases that describe museum-related strengths, such as organising exhibits, assisting visitors, or working collaboratively. Proofreading spelling and choosing more precise collocations would make your application clearer and more professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
Your sentences communicate the basic information, and you attempt some longer structures, such as “I recently read your advertisement that…” and “I am looking forward to work with you…”. However, there are some errors in sentence construction, verb forms, and punctuation. For example, “I work in biggest art company” needs an article and a more complete comparison, while “I am looking forward to work” should use a gerund after “looking forward to.” The opening uses “Dear Mr sharma,” although the task specifies “Dear Sir or Madam,” and the closing is not punctuated consistently. Most ideas remain understandable, but more accurate sentence patterns and careful editing would improve control.
