Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all three bullet points of the task: the reason for volunteering, relevant skills, and availability. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention skills like 'inventory management' and 'languages', these are listed rather than explained in the context of how they would specifically benefit the museum. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is expanded with more detail or specific examples. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the reader is left in no doubt about your intentions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, with each paragraph focusing on one of the required points. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'If you need me', which help the flow. However, the transition between sentences could be smoother, and some linking words are used in a slightly mechanical way. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall structure is easy to follow, which is a key requirement for this task type.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'vacancy', 'career growth', and 'inventory management'. There are some inaccuracies, such as 'Mexican' (which is a nationality, not a language) and the phrasing 'this kind of opportunity is very grateful', which should be 'this opportunity would be very beneficial'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise word choice. Expanding your vocabulary to include more formal collocations would help improve your score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'I am history student' (missing article 'a'), 'skills which is required' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'football club fro my practice' (spelling error). Additionally, the sentence 'I can easily communicate with kids how to involve them' is slightly awkward in its construction. While these errors are frequent, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles.
