Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: the reason for volunteering, relevant skills, and availability. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention having 'knowledge of history', you could have elaborated on how this specifically benefits the museum. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal application, though the opening and closing lack the professional polish expected in a formal letter. To improve, ensure that each point is expanded with more specific details to demonstrate a stronger engagement with the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For example, the transition 'as of summer vacation in my college' is awkward and does not effectively link the ideas. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack smooth connections, such as the jump between your studies and your desire to volunteer. Improving the use of linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' would help create a more natural flow between your sentences and paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, but there are several instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors. Phrases like 'explore myself' and 'helpful to community as doing charity works' are not standard collocations. You also rely on basic vocabulary, such as 'a plenty of skills' and 'things', which limits the sophistication of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise terminology related to professional applications and volunteering, and ensure that your word choices are natural and contextually appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly regarding articles ('the museum', 'a museum'), capitalization ('sir/madam', 'mayank patel'), and verb forms ('while took participating'). Some sentences are also grammatically incomplete or awkward, such as 'writing this letter to apply for job application'. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation impact the overall quality of the writing. Focusing on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and consistent capitalization will significantly improve your accuracy and readability.
