Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt: the reason for volunteering, relevant skills, and availability. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat uneven. The explanation regarding why you want to volunteer is a bit vague, and the final paragraph wanders into a discussion about the benefits of local buildings for youth, which is not directly relevant to your application. To improve, ensure that every sentence serves the purpose of your application. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although the abrupt ending ('Th') suggests an incomplete conclusion, which impacts the overall effectiveness of the task completion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression of ideas is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing and abrupt transitions. For example, the shift from discussing your availability to the societal benefits of local buildings is disjointed. While some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'In order to' are used, they are sometimes applied mechanically or incorrectly. The lack of a proper closing and the incomplete final sentence significantly hinder the flow and coherence of the text. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would enhance the structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for a basic task but lacks the precision and variety expected at higher bands. You rely on simple phrasing, such as 'good fit' and 'help them'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'sharp my skills' (should be 'sharpen') and 'contribute in the society' (should be 'contribute to society'). The vocabulary is functional but does not demonstrate a wide range of less common items or sophisticated control. To improve, focus on using more precise verbs and collocations relevant to a professional application context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The letter contains a mix of simple and some complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include inconsistent capitalization (e.g., 'i' instead of 'I'), punctuation errors, and awkward sentence construction, such as 'which results; to get good job'. Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage also need attention. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence structure, consistent capitalization, and proofreading for small grammatical slips will help improve your accuracy.
