Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt: the reason for volunteering, relevant skills, and availability. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal application. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention your 'gold model' (likely medal) for tour guiding, the explanation of why you want to volunteer is a bit repetitive, focusing heavily on your own benefit rather than what you can contribute to the museum. To reach a higher band, ensure that your motivation is clearly linked to the museum's needs and that your skills are described with more specific detail.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'Thus', and 'Consequently' to link your thoughts. However, some of these transitions feel slightly mechanical or are used with minor grammatical errors, such as 'Consequently, you can get back to me in order to more information'. The paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is more precise.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'voluntary work', 'efficient', and 'crucial role'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'gold model' (likely meaning 'medal') and 'co-responding' (which should be 'corresponding'). Additionally, phrases like 'best fit person' are slightly informal. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your word choices are accurate in a professional context. You have enough vocabulary to convey your meaning, but the lack of precision prevents a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You have several grammatical errors, such as 'I would going to be' (should be 'I would be'), 'I am on my vacation' (should be 'I am on vacation'), and 'I would loved to join' (should be 'I would love to join'). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, pay closer attention to verb tenses and modal verb usage, as these are currently causing the most issues.
