Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response successfully addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly explain your motivation for volunteering, detail your relevant skills—specifically your multilingualism and customer service experience—and provide a clear availability schedule. The tone is appropriate for a formal application letter. The ideas are well-developed, and the purpose of the letter is clear from the beginning. To reach a higher band, ensure that all parts of the prompt are addressed with equal depth; for instance, you could have elaborated slightly more on how your specific university studies in 'Social well-being' would benefit the museum environment.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a distinct purpose. The progression of ideas is easy to follow. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Apart from that' and 'Currently', which help link your thoughts. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes a bit mechanical. To improve, try to vary your transitions and ensure that the flow between sentences is smoother. For example, the transition between your skills and your availability could be more fluid. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. Phrases like 'enhance my learning' and 'inculcate something new' show an attempt to use more sophisticated language. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'serve myself a bit to the community', which is not a natural collocation. Additionally, 'inculcate' is used slightly incorrectly in this context, as it usually refers to teaching or instilling ideas in others. Focusing on more natural collocations and precise word usage will help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures effectively. While the majority of your sentences are clear, there are some grammatical slips, such as 'I hope my availability will works for you' (should be 'will work') and the inconsistent capitalization of 'i' throughout the text. Punctuation is generally functional, though there are occasional errors in sentence boundaries, such as 'multi-tasking.as well as'. Despite these errors, the meaning is never obscured, and you show a good command of basic and some complex structures.
