IELTS Writing Task 1 question
A museum near your home is looking for people to do part-time voluntary/unpaid work. You would like to do some voluntary/unpaid work at the museum. Write a letter to the museum director to apply for the voluntary/unpaid work. In your letter
- explain why you want to do voluntary/unpaid work at the museum
- describe some skills and qualities you have that would be useful
- give details of when you would be available for work
You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to apply for the part-time voluntary position at your museum. I am very interested not only in history but also in art and culture. I believe working in your museum can enhance my learning in these aspects while I can also contribute to my community as i love providing customer service and helping visitors.
I am very friendly, responsible and hardworking person. I communicate well in numerous languages such as English, French, Punjabi and Hindi. Apart from that, I am very good at team work and multi-tasking as well as customer service. I am also a patient and organized person, so I could help visitors with their questions and provide necessary information about the museum and exhibition. I am I am eager to work as part of a team and learn new skills.
Currently, I am a full time university student of a Social well being program for which i am available in the evenings to contribute to the community. I am available from 4 P.M to 8 P.M. every day.
I hope my availability will work for you and I would really appreciate if I got an opportunity to give something back to the community. Hope to hear from you soon.
