Dear Museum director,
I am writing to express my interest in doing part-time voluntary work at the museum. I recently learned that you are looking for volunteers, and I would be delighted to contribute my time and skills to this valuable community institution.
I am particularly interested in volunteering because I have always been fascinated to history and local culture. I believe working in the museum would allow me to learn more about historical arts and develop respect for artists, while contributing to the community.
I believe I have several skills and qualities that helps to perform my duties more efficiently. Firstly, I have strong communication skills which enables me to explain to the visitors about artifacts effectively. Moreover, I am organized, hard-working and friendly personality. I can also work independently and as a part of a team.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 8.0
The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly explain your motivation for volunteering, detail your relevant skills, and provide specific availability. The tone is appropriate for a formal application, and the purpose of the letter is clear from the outset. The ideas are well-developed and relevant to the context of a museum volunteer position. To reach a higher band, you could provide slightly more specific examples of how your communication skills have been used in previous settings, but overall, the task is fully addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 8.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph focuses on a specific requirement of the prompt, which makes the letter easy to follow. You use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'Regarding' to link your points effectively. The paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter. The flow is smooth, and the relationship between ideas is clear throughout the text. There are no issues with referencing or logical sequencing.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary appropriate for a formal letter, such as 'contribute', 'valuable community institution', and 'artifacts'. There is a minor collocation error in the phrase 'fascinated to history', which should be 'fascinated by history'. Additionally, 'historical arts' is slightly imprecise; 'historical exhibits' or 'artifacts' would be more natural. Despite these minor slips, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly and professionally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures effectively. However, there are a few grammatical slips. For example, 'skills and qualities that helps' should be 'skills and qualities that help' (subject-verb agreement), and 'explain to the visitors about artifacts' is slightly awkward; 'explain the artifacts to visitors' is more natural. You also have a minor error in 'approximately from 15 to 20 hours', where 'approximately' and the preposition 'from' are redundant. Despite these, the majority of your sentences are error-free and communication is never impeded.
